WELCOME TO AN CALADH
WELCOME TO AN CALADH

Covid 19 update

We are living in very different times and we know that you will want to know that we are doing everything we can to keep you safe when you are staying with us.

  • An Caladh is a self contained cottage with it's own entrance doors and no communal areas.
  • Your contact with us will be minimal. We like to welcome guests personally but will now do this from a distance. If you would prefer we didn't do this at all just let us know before you arrive.
  • We are working on a  "check in" page so we can show you round An Caladh without needing to enter the cottage.

We already have very high hygiene standards and follow stringent cleaning protocols and will continue to do so but, to help cement our knowledge, we also took a course designed to help owners and cleaners of self-catering properties.

In it, we covered:

  • Risk Assessments
  • The science of Coronavirus, its longevity on different surfaces and how to effectively and safely eradicate it from our property.
  • What cleaning products we should be using and why, and their effective kill rates.

Our primary concern is for the safety of our guests so we have implemented the appropriate recommendations in the Scottish Government's Tourism and Hospitality Sector Guidance.

We have added additional measures from the cleaning protocols published by the Association of Scotland's Self-caterers, of which we are a member.

  • All 'high-touch' surfaces such as door handles, light switches etc. in addition to being cleaned as usual are wiped with antiviral disinfectant, effective according to BS EN 14476 against enveloped viruses which includes coronaviruses.
  • Rugs and soft furnishings are steam cleaned and cushions and throws have been removed from the bedroom.
  • All our linen and towels etc.are already laundered at 60 degrees and all bedding has protectors which are removed and laundered after every guest. We also have multiple sets of linen and protectors so what will be in the cottage for your stay will have been laundered and then stored for a minimum of five days, usually much longer, before your stay. However if you wish to bring your own bedding, linen, bathroom and kitchen towels you are welcome to do so and we will apply a discount to the cost of your stay. Please let us know when you book.

We have received the "We're Good to Go" accreditation from the National Tourist Organisations of Scotland in partnership with Visit Scotland. Acquiring the Industry Standard mark means that we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, have a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Contact us if you have any concerns not addressed here and we will do our best to reassure you of our committment to your safety and to an enjoyable stay.
